About New Visions Gallery
The Gallery
New Visions Gallery is
Marshfield's
special place for the visual arts. Since 1975, the non-profit community
museum/gallery has been located in the lobby of
Marshfield
Clinic with additional office space and support on the lower level.
The facilities are donated to the community program by Marshfield Clinic.
New Visions organizes a dynamic series of changing exhibitions which are
displayed in a 1600 square foot, secure, climate controlled gallery.
Exhibits change every 6-8 weeks and feature a variety of art forms
including national traveling exhibitions, significant works on loan from
private and public collections, and quality regional art.
In late winter, Marshfield student art is featured. Each spring the
Gallery organizes a national invitational exhibition of art with
agricultural themes entitled "New Visions' Culture and Agriculture".
An exhibit catalog is published.
Lectures, demonstrations, workshops, and opportunities to meet and
discuss their work with artists are available through the Gallery. A
popular feature of many opening celebrations is a
HANDS-ON-ART activity area where children
and adults can experience using art materials. New Visions serves the art
life of the community by offering opportunities for direct experience with
original works of art. It provides a forum for the exchange of ideas about
art and offers programs to enhance the appreciation and understanding of
art.
